Manchester United #ILOVEUNITED
About the project
For the first time in three years, English Premier League giants, Manchester United brought the hugely popular fan event #ILOVEUNITED back to the United States, touching down at Oasis Wynwood in Miami, FL on Saturday, April 16.
#ILOVEUNITED MIA offered 2,000+ lucky fans a free opportunity to experience a Manchester United match day like never before, with a live screening of the Premier League match against Norwich City, live entertainment, giveaways and some very special guests, who were on hand to meet fans throughout the day. The bonus—Manchester United won 3-2 over Norwich City.
FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner Diego Forlan is a cult hero among Manchester United supporters with his name still sung by the fans at Old Trafford, while Andy Cole is one of the club’s greatest goal scorers of all time and a driving force in the historic treble-winning side of 1999. Both were onsite to greet attendees, helping to shorten the distance from Miami to the team back in England.
To add a little local flair, and create connection to the famous Wynwood Walls, Miami artist Surge created a live mural throughout the match day activation. In addition to being an active visual attraction, the mural also doubled as a photo moment backdrop and driver of social media content throughout the day.
